Web Browser History

 

What web browser am I using?
Your web browser keeps a list of webpages that you have visited. Sometimes it is necessary to clear those history files. Just follow the directions for your Web Browser version:

Windows Internet Explorer 5 & 6

  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Click the Tools menu and choose Internet Options.
  • Click the Clear History button. When asked if you wish to delete your history of visited Web sites, choose Yes.
  • Click OK to close the Internet Options window.

Windows Internet Explorer 4

  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Click the View menu and choose Internet Options.
  • On the General tab, click the Clear History button. You will be asked if you wish to Delete all files in your History folder, choose Yes.
  • Click OK to close the Internet Options window.

Macintosh Internet Explorer 4.5 & 5

  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
  • Under the Web Browser category, choose Advanced.
  • Click the Clear History button, click OK to confirm.
  • Click OK again to close the Preferences window.

Netscape 4.x

  • Open Netscape Communicator
  • Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
  • Choose Navigator from the list of categories.
  • Click the Expire Now button and click OK to close the Preferences window.

    You may need to quit Netscape for the History to clear: Click the File menu and choose Quit.

Netscape 7

  • Open Netscape 7.
  • Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
  • Double click Navigator to expand the category and choose History.
  • Click the Clear History button.
  • Click OK to close the Preferences window.
